Timing Belt and Cooling System Repair in Klamath Falls
These two jobs live together because they are usually done together. On a lot of engines the water pump is driven by the timing belt, so replacing one without the other means paying for the same labour twice.
Cooling matters more here than it does in a city. There are long stretches on Highway 97 and Highway 140 with nothing on the shoulder, and an overheated engine on one of those stretches is an expensive problem.
We book by phone, so you get a real answer about timing.
What it costs to find out
Leak inspections are free
If you are losing coolant or you see a puddle, the leak inspection costs nothing. Bring it in before a long drive rather than after.
Signs It Is Time To Come In
- The temperature gauge climbing above where it normally sits
- Sweet smelling steam or coolant pooling under the car
- The heater blowing cold, which is often the first sign of low coolant
- You are at or past the timing belt interval for your mileage
- A whine or rattle from the front of the engine
- Having to top up the coolant regularly
What We Actually Do
- 1
Pressure test the cooling system to find where it is actually losing coolant
- 2
Check the water pump, thermostat, radiator, hoses, and cap
- 3
Replace the timing belt with the tensioner and water pump where the engine calls for it
- 4
Tell you whether you are looking at a hose or something serious before we start
Every repair is backed by a 12-month, 12,000-mile warranty. Because most of the parts we use are NAPA parts, that warranty is honored at any NAPA Car Care shop nationwide, not just here.
